After school care operates during school terms from 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm. It provides a meaningful leisure based program that supports children's well-being, learning and developmental needs.
A nutritious afternoon tea is provided, with a fruit bowl available throughout the afternoon.
With the help of children, menus change each term with consideration of the changing seasons. Children also have the chance to help in the kitchen, developing many life skills.
Each week, we use the input and interests of children and families to develop the program plan. We also consider special days and events that provide opportunities for learning.
Educators are supportive of children's needs and interests. They provide resources and plan for this as opportunities arise.
We believe that secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with children and families are important. They are vital for children to thrive.
Some of the program’s activities include:
- cooking sessions
- creative crafts
- social play opportunities including construction
- engaging physical activities
- group games
