This project involves the reconstruction of a 1.23 km section of Woorinen Road, from chainage 0.06 to chainage 1.29, to improve transport safety and ensure compliance with current Australian Standards and heavy vehicle requirements.

The upgraded road will align with the Infrastructure Design Manual, Austroads Guide, VicRoads Standards, and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), supporting accessibility and long-term serviceability. The reconstruction will address geotechnical pavement integrity while ensuring the road meets the demands of increased vehicle usage and supports the local economy, which relies on efficient freight and transport networks.

Guided by the Community Vision and Council Plan 2021–2025, the Transport Asset Management Plan, and the Freight Road Network Mapping and Infrastructure Investment study, this project emphasizes standard-compliance, safety, and responsive infrastructure.

This initiative reflects Council’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure, improving accessibility, and supporting the economic and social well-being of the community.
