Swan Hill’s Youth Arts Festival (YAF) is returning in October 2024, bigger and better than ever!

Scheduled for Saturday, 26 October on Campbell Street in Swan Hill, alongside Swan Hill Market Day, the annual one-day event showcases the talents of local young artists. From live performances to interactive art spaces, and a captivating display of local artwork, the festival promises something for everyone.

Talented local artist and Youth Arts Festival Ambassador, Angelica Watson expressed her excitement about this year’s preparations.

“YAF provides a platform for young artists to shine, offering recognition and appreciation of their skills.

"I urge all young creatives to participate by submitting their artwork and joining us in celebrating our community's vibrant arts scene.

“Artwork can include paintings, poetry, photos and more,” Angelica said.

Organised by the NOVO Youth Council and supported by Youth Inc, YAF is not just an event but a testament to the creativity and passion of local young people.

“We’re proud to be bringing YAF back this year, it’s such an exciting event that is run by young people, for young people.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for young people to get involved, whether through showcasing their talents or joining our dynamic NOVO Youth Council.

“Right now, is an exciting time to get involved in our NOVO Youth Council – I would encourage anyone interested to consider joining.

“We meet 4pm each Tuesday night at Youth Inc, and whilst we’re currently busy preparing for YAF, it also gives young people the chance to have their voices and ideas heard

“There’s some pretty delicious food provided too!” she said.

Youth Arts Festival submissions close on Friday, 20 September 2024.
