Swan Hill Rural City Council contractors are currently undertaking works involving the replacement of the kerb and channel, as well as the road pavement on Butterworth Street in Swan Hill.

Council’s Director Infrastructure, Leah Johnston said works were being undertaken between Holloway Grove and Berrybank Drive from Monday 29 July until early September.

“Work will be carried out in five distinct stages, each carefully planned to minimise disruption while ensuring the highest quality of construction.

“During the first stage, commencing this week, the team will replace the kerb and channel, work on driveways, and lay the subbase layer of pavement between Holloway Grove and Cole Court.

“Stage two will see similar work—kerb and channel replacement, driveways, and subbase layer pavement—take place between Cole Court and Derham Drive.

“The third stage will focus on the subbase layer and base layer of pavement from Derham Drive to Berrybank Drive.

“Following this, stage four will involve the construction of the base layer and pavement between Cole Court and Derham Drive.

Finally, stage five, the last phase will involve completing the base layer and pavement between Holloway Grove and Cole Court and sealing works,” Ms Johnston said.

Ms Johnston said that work would be carried out between the hours of 7am and 6pm each weekday and all impacted properties have been door knocked and letter dropped.

“Residents should be aware that vehicle access to homes may be restricted during these times, though pedestrian access will remain available.

“Our contractors are committed to minimising disruption as much as possible and maintaining local traffic access for impacted residents, as much as possible.

“Residents can rest assured that access for emergency response will remain unrestricted throughout the duration of these works.

“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the residents in the impacted area as these necessary improvements are completed,” she said.
