Murray Regional Tourism (MRT) is calling for community feedback for the Murray River Adventure Trail, set to link towns along the Murray River.

The trail will use land and water to incorporate walking, cycling and kayaking/canoeing from Albury/Wodonga through to Mildura/Wentworth. It will create an iconic new product on the Murray River and support the development and promotion of the river and its surrounding natural areas.

Michelle Grainger, Director Development and Planning, said the design of the Murray River Adventure Trail will be predominantly driven by the opportunity to leverage existing opportunities and infrastructure along the Murray River.

“This is an opportune time for the community to get involved in such a promising project,” Ms Grainger said.

“The input from our community members, particularly those who use the river and surrounding areas for recreational activities, will be essential to capturing all existing and new opportunities,”

“The success of this project will be of enormous benefit to our community, with both livability and economic benefits on the cards,”

“I would urge community members to take the time to have a read about the project, complete the survey and add their ideas to the online interactive map,” she added.

Murray River Tourism will close this phase of consultation on Friday, 2 August 2024.
