The much-anticipated Robinvale Key Worker Accommodation project is set to commence at McCartney Court, bringing 10 modern dwellings to support essential workers in the region.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said this significant development would provide much-needed housing to help attract and retain key workers in Robinvale, strengthening the local community and workforce.

“The chosen site for the new accommodation holds a special place in the hearts of many Robinvale families. For years, it was home to the town’s kindergarten, where generations of local children took their first educational steps.

“As the old kindergarten is prepared for demolition in the coming weeks, many community members will no doubt reflect on the fond memories and sentimental value of the location. While its physical structure will be removed, its legacy will live on through the new development that will serve the community in a different but equally important way,” Cr King said.

Cr King said the project was a vital step in addressing housing shortages and ensuring that Robinvale remains an attractive place for key workers to live and work.

“The modern dwellings will offer comfortable and high-quality accommodation, reinforcing the town’s commitment to supporting those who play a crucial role in its growth and prosperity,” he said.

Council is still in the process of seeking contractors for the construction and development of these dwellings. The community will be kept informed of progress, with updates provided as the project moves forward.

This project is thanks to the Victorian Government’s Regional Worker Accommodation Fund and Swan Hill Rural City Council.
