In her recently published book, ‘Faraday – A Community Rediscovered’, Robyn recounts the harrowing events of 6 October 1972, when she, as the eldest of six young female students, along with their teacher, was kidnapped from the Faraday State School.
Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan stated that are excited to host an author talk in Robinvale and Swan Hill.
She said “It will be an opportunity to hear first-hand the events that took place on this horrific day in the quiet, central Victorian town of Faraday. The raw emotions, thoughts and innocence that was lost forever as this ordeal unfolded,”
“Audience members will be able to experience history through the lens of a survivor, who at the time was only ten years old.”
As a well-known member of the Lake Boga community, Robyn wears many hats – a respected community leader, a wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated Maternal Child Health Nurse. The events of this fateful day have invaded her sleep for decades, and this book has taken years to write.
