Swan Hill Rural City Council is proud to be installing solar panels at two key facilities: the Swan Hill Aquatics and Recreation Centre (SHARC) and the Robinvale Recreation and Aquatic Centre (RARC.) This initiative is aimed at enhancing sustainability within the community and underscores Council's commitment to environmental stewardship.

Council’s Director Infrastructure Leah Johnston said this project marks a pivotal step toward harnessing renewable energy to power essential community infrastructure.

“The decision to install solar on our public infrastructure highlights Council’s dedication to leveraging clean energy solutions for the benefit of residents and wider community.

"The installation of solar panels at these facilities signifies a tangible step towards building a more resilient and sustainable future for our municipality,” Ms Johnston said.

Ms Johnston said the project was expected to produce many benefits, including a reduction in carbon emissions, cost savings over time that would be put back into the local communities, and contributions to environmental conservation.

Solar Panel installation will commence in June 2024.
