Swan Hill Rural City Council is proud to announce that Deputy Mayor Cr Les McPhee has been elected to the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Board.
As the peak body for local government in Victoria, MAV plays a vital role in representing, advocating for, and supporting the state's 79 councils. It provides strategic guidance, policy advice, training, insurance, and essential services to help councils deliver for their communities.
Mayor Cr Stuart King congratulated Cr McPhee on his appointment, highlighting his dedication, leadership, and extensive experience in local government.
“Cr McPhee brings a deep understanding of our community’s needs and a strong commitment to ensuring the Swan Hill Municipality’s voice is heard at the state level. “I have no doubt Cr McPhee will ensure that the rural voice is heard loud and clear,” Cr King said.
Cr McPhee expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and the support he has received, stating his enthusiasm for working alongside MAV to strengthen and enhance local government across Victoria.
“I’m honoured to represent Swan Hill and contribute to MAV’s important work. I look forward to advocating for our community and working collaboratively to address key challenges facing local councils,” Cr McPhee said.
