Swan Hill and Robinvale will be treated to a visit from Stan Grant – renowned journalist, author and commentator – this month as part of Reconciliation Week.
Stan will speak at three public events and the community is invited to hear him speak.
- Thursday, 30 May – Robinvale community keynote address – FREE event open to all at Robinvale Community Arts Centre at 1pm.
- Friday, 31 May – Swan Hill Breakfast Series – $20 includes hot breakfast – 7am until 8.30am at Spoons Riverside.
- Friday, 31 May – Respectful and Just Reconciliation Week Dinner – $60 includes three course dinner and entertainment – 6pm at Swan Hill Jockey Club
Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor Ann Young said it was a real coup for the region to secure his visit.
“Stan Grant is a celebrated current affairs host and a highly respected commentator. To have him here for Reconciliation Week is so exciting, and a credit to the work of the Wandarrah Action Committee and the Council team behind the events,” Cr Young said.
“These events will be popular, and you must book for the Swan Hill events, so get in early to secure your spot.”
In addition to public events, Stan will also work with school students during his visit, and will speak to Aboriginal elders in both Swan Hill and Robinvale.
The Stan Grant tour was the brainchild of Wandarrah Action Committee, and is supported by Council and Reconciliation Victoria.
Bookings are needed for the two Swan Hill events. Book at Swan Hill Region Information Centre, corner of Curlewis and McCrae streets, call 5032 3033 or book online.
