Robinvale to be asked for Bromley Road comment

The entire Robinvale community will have the chance to express their views on the potential sale of Council-owned land at 71-77 Bromley Road.

At their December Council Meeting, Councillors voted to undertake community consultation on the potential sale.

Then, at a Special Council Meeting today, Councillors affirmed that commitment, voting down a motion to rescind (or cancel) the December decision.

It means that the public consultation will occur from this week. Details will be advertised on Friday.

Mayor Ann Young said it was important that all members of the Robinvale community had their say – either for or against the potential sale.

“Despite the wording used in the December meeting – which is taken directly from the Local Government Act – Council has not made a decision on whether or not to sell the land.

“Council will not make this decision until we have considered input from the wider community. And that’s what we are calling for now – for Robinvale community members to tell us their views on the potential sale of the land.”

For details on how to make comment, please check Council’s website, Facebook page and The Guardian from this Friday, and The Sentinel from Thursday, 31 January.
