Thirsty Merc bounced onto the music scene in the early 2000s with their summertime sounds, making their mark on radio and television.
Now the band is back on the road on their Take Me Back tour and performing at the Swan Hill Town Hall next Friday, 6 April.
Having released four critically acclaimed albums, a number one on iTunes in Australia and five ARIA Award nominations, Thirsty Merc have found their way into the fabric of Australia’s musical landscape, with hit songs including Someday and In The Summertime – the theme for hot show Bondi Rescue.
Council’s Venue and Performing Arts Manager Yvette Myhill said the Town Hall was thrilled to be hosting such an iconic band.
“I think as soon as you hear a Thirsty Merc song, it just brings back a flood of great memories and you can’t help singing along,” Ms Myhill said.
“Songs like 20 Good Reasons, Someday and Summertime were such huge hits, and the band have continued to evolve over the years.
“The Take Me Back tour is a celebration of all these hits plus their musical journey since then, so fans are definitely going to be blown away by songs they’ve never heard the band play before.”
Thirsty Merc will appear on stage at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC on Friday, 6 April at 8pm. Bar opens from 7pm.
Early bird online tickets are available for $25 until the morning of the show.
Tickets can also be purchased over the counter at the Swan Hill Region Information centre or over the phone on 1800 625 373 for $27.50.
