The Swan Hill Farmers’ Market Committee (SHFMC) is calling for expressions of interest from potential stallholders for the upcoming monthly Swan Hill Farmer’s Market.
The market is set to commence around December this year and will run on the first Sunday of each month from 9am to 1pm at the Swan Hill Riverside Park.
Swan Hill Rural City Councillor Jessie Kiley said although it is too early to seek definite commitment from potential stallholders, the committee is calling for genuine expressions of interest to assist in the final stages of planning.
“The priorities of the SHFMC are the growers and the community, but we have also focused on working with existing markets within the Swan Hill region, to ensure all markets can continue to grow,” Cr Kiley said.
“Now that we are getting so close to seeing the market come to fruition, it’s a really exciting time.
“We have had fantastic community support and interest from local growers and producers, and now we are at the stage where we can turn this support into action.
“I encourage anyone who is interested in trading at the Farmers’ Market to register their interest. This is definitely a case of the more, the merrier.”
The Swan Hill Farmers’ Market will also be open to other specialty makers or value adding stallholders, with guidelines allowing 25 per cent of stallholders to trade under this category.
